Irrigation refers to artificial application of right quantity, quality water and at the right time. There are four major types of irrigation systems, which are drip, sprinkler, furrow and flood.
Among our farmers, the most commonly used are drip and sprinkler systems because of their suitability in water application to most commonly grown crops. The flood system is mainly used by low land rice farmers in eastern Uganda.
