It has become a common  cause for most poultry farmers to complain about losses especially when broilers are ready for sale and there is no market.

Mandela Wycliffe  a poultry farmer and an expert in smoking grilled chicken  on the streets of Kansanga  Makindye  division , Kampala  district  says that smoking chicken can save farmers from accumulating  losses.

What is needed

Garlic

 onions for creating a beautiful aroma

Carrots

 green pepper

Sugar and salt, this makes the taste so sweet and the consumer will not want to complete the meal.

Soy sauce, this is most important ingredient of all, creates the beautiful taste, aroma and gives it all to the consumer.

Orange food color to change the color of the fresh chicken and look appetizing.

Procedure

In  a clean bucket, you mix blended carrots , garlic, green pepper with salt , sugar with soy sauce and test then dissolve the chicken in this mixture , cover the bucket for 30 minutes to make chicken get dissolved with ingredients to keep the sweet taste and  strong aroma that attracts consumers.

Chicken is the put on the grilling  sticks to begin smoking for 30 minutes, this is cut into small pieces smoked well for consumption. People love smoked grilled chicken because  its health, sweet, the aroma is so strong and contains no blood spots at all.

It is served with chips, cabbage fresh onions and tomatoes and some love it with ketchup.

‘’Fresh chicken is sold at shs.14500 , market price  but when prepared, I sell 40 chicken on a daily ,deducting charcoal  money, paying workers , shs.100000 profit is made on a daily basis,’’ Mandela said

Mandela added that farmers don’t need to cry about market for broiler chicken any more, selling grilled roasted chicken is the solution.
