Avocado is propagated both by seed, and preferably by cuttings because avocado cuttings give faster results when used, with fruiting starting as early as 26 months.
• It is important to keep the land moist because excessive rainfall can be detrimental as it may cause rotting of the plants.
• Black loam soil is best for growing avocado and in case of other types of soil, irrigation has to be practiced to keep the soil moist.
• Avocado requires well drained soils with a moderate fertility to grow. The plants are tolerant to a pH range from 5.5 to 6.8.
