For the third week, Uganda is expecting moderate rain in the week (October 18-25), according to ICPAC.

ICPAC, the IGAD Climate Prediction and Applications Centre, has formally joined REAP (the Risk-informed Early Action Partnership), a global initiative that brings together key actors across the climate, humanitarian, and development.

Headline:  More than usual rainfall forecast over cross-border regions of Somalia-Ethiopia and South Sudan-Sudan with temperatures warmer than average in most parts of the Greater Horn of Africa (GHA).

“Moderate rainfall (50-200mm) expected over south-western Uganda,” stated the weekly weather forecast report, adding that light rainfall (less than 50 mm) is expected over central to northern Uganda.

One-millimeter rainfall is equivalent to one litre of water per square meter.

Overall, drier than usual conditions are predicted over most Uganda, according to ICPAC.

Moderate temperatures between 20 – 32 ℃ expected over most parts central to northern Uganda, according to ICPAC. Warmer than usual temperatures expected in most parts of Uganda.
