Zion Joshua Kizito is passionate about rearing animals, especially chicken.
At eight years old, Kizito is already actively engaged in farming. You will find him busy at his father’s poultry farm where he spends his holidays. But the young farmer doesn’t stop at that.
He always looks out for opportunities to acquire more knowledge about what he does. And for that, he attended Vision Group’s Harvest Money Expo 2025 which was held at Mandela National Stadium Namboole from February 14-16.
Over 20,000 people and 220 exhibitors attended the annual expo which is the biggest and most impactful agricultural show in the country.
Meanwhile, Kizito was with his father Dickson Kizito. They attended different trainings, visited the stalls and bought agricultural products and seedlings.

But above all, Kizito says; “This has been my first time to attend this expo. I asked my dad to bring me after seeing the adverts on TV. I don’t regret coming because I have enjoyed it to the maximum. Many amazing things especially the machines were on display and the owners would teach everyone to use them. I have learnt that you can use machines to do all the work at the farm. There are tractors that dig, plant, weed and harvest crops.”
He adds; “I can’t wait for the next expo. I will also bring my four siblings along so that we learn together and improve our parents’ farm. Good enough, we all love farming and we want to be farmers when we grow up.”
Kizito’s father owns a farm with over 500 birds.
On why he loves farming he says; “Farming is good but some children don’t like it because they think that farmers are poor which is not true.”
